Resources for Writers

I’ve put this page together with quick links to all the best information I’ve collected for writers:

EXTERNAL SITES:

Getting Published

Ralan.com – is a great site which has up-to-date listings of many genre-specific magazines accepting submissions. Includes pay-rate and short description of each one.

Fiction Factor – Offers genre-specific listings of magazines accepting submissions, pay-rates and descriptions. There is also a free genre-specific ebook that you can download which includes all magazine details (although some information is dated), as well as details of major publishing houses and their submission guidelines.

For those in Aus, the The Australian Literary Association has a blog right here on WordPress. They list Australian agents and links to their sites.

Beta Reading

If you are looking for other places for beta readers, definitely do head over to The Critters Workshop. This is a great place to get work reviewed, and I’ve found all feedback to be very, very helpful.
